About Us
The Last Friday Supper is a program supported by several religious groups in Nevada County. Through their financial donations, our program continues to feed over 100 guests a month.
History
The first meal was served on the last Friday in September, 2001. About 35 people attended, and there was an outpouring of volunteers to serve them!
Since then the program has continued serving anyone who wants a free meal. On Thanksgiving in 2004, we served 130 people. We also gave away hundreds of articles of clothing and blankets - again FREE. In 2006, we served over 150 people!
Our Newsletters
We currently send a monthly newsletter to all volunteers and to the heads of all the religious groups participating. Our newsletters also go out to non-participating faith-based organizations so they are still in the loop.
